Experience In Healthcare Since 2006
I wanted to create Praxis because I’ve lived the reality of modern healthcare careers. As an NHS physiotherapist, I’ve seen first-hand how many skilled clinicians are now building portfolio careers, balancing employed roles with self-employed work to gain flexibility, autonomy and new opportunities. I’ve also explored this path myself, running my own limited company and working as a locum physiotherapist. What I found was that there wasn’t always clear, accessible information or support to help make those steps feel straightforward or safe.
With increasing job pressures, recruitment freezes and fewer traditional locum opportunities available, independent and flexible working can feel both more necessary and more challenging than ever. Praxis grew from a desire to change that. I wanted to create something approachable, trustworthy and genuinely useful - not just another insurance provider, but a place where healthcare professionals feel supported to protect their careers, grow their confidence and navigate self-employment with clarity. A space where clinicians can build sustainable, flexible careers while continuing to deliver great care.
